“Then He said to them, “Beware, and be on your guard against every form of greed; for not even when one has an abundance does his life consist of his possessions.””
— Luke 12:15
When I read this this morning, “every kind” really stuck out to me.
We often associate greed with money, but what about with time, am I greedy with my time. Do I not wake up early enough to give Him the amount of time He deserves. Do I “not stay awake with Him for one hour” because I like to go to bed early.
How much revelation and heart transformation am I missing out on.
Even if I wake up early…is my time spent with Him or are the distractions in my mind greedy and I’m not on guard for them.
Time in the Word in the morning is preparation — it’s where you get equipped for the battles you’ll face that day. It’s where wisdom comes for how to handle them, where your spirit rises above your flesh, and where your life comes back into alignment.
It also brings clarity of assignment and discernment, so you don’t walk into the day blind or emotionally led.
Time with the Lord in the evening will soften your heart, lead you into repentance for the things you weren’t prepared for, and give wisdom on how not to make that same mistake again.
It becomes a detox of the soul, clearing off every fear, offense, or pressure that tried to attach itself to you throughout the day.
Put them both together, and you are a powerhouse warrior for the Lord —
aligned, armed, tender, and unshakeable.
But if you skip the morning and only meet with Him in the evening, you’ll get healing, tenderness, and repentance — but you’ll miss the equipping you needed before the battle even started.
It’s like cleaning your wounds at night but walking into war every morning without armor.
Evening time will reset your heart, but morning time prepares your spirit.
One restores you… the other equips you.
And you were never meant to live with only half of what God wants to give you.
