“Our fathers who were delivered from Egypt didn’t fully understand your wonders, and they took you for granted. Over and over you showed them such tender love and mercy! Yet they were barely beyond the Red Sea when they rebelled against you.”
Psalms 106:7 TPT
This is me…
I take Him for granted.
Not on purpose.
But because He’s so much bigger than my mind can hold.
He’s so in control, so steady, so deeply loving…
that I forget His greatness when I try to control things myself.
I take Him for granted when sadness clouds my vision.
I take Him for granted when joy overwhelms me —
because sometimes joy turns into emotional highs,
and humanity steps in,
and joy becomes happiness… and then happiness fades.
And in all of it,
I get caught up in my emotions
and I take Him for granted again.
Oh Lord, keep me.
Hold my heart steady.
Anchor my mind in Your faithfulness.
Don’t let me forget who You are.
Don’t let my humanity overshadow Your majesty.
Just like Psalm 106:7 says —
“Our fathers did not remember the multitude of Your mercies.”
Lord, I don’t want to forget Your mercy.
I don’t want to forget Your power.
I don’t want to forget Your faithfulness.
Keep me in remembrance.
Keep me in awe.
Keep me in You.
