Wow. Luke 16:29–31 just exposed a serious truth in the church today.

Nobody wants to submit to authority — and honestly, the topic is barely touched anymore because pastors are afraid of losing people.

But Jesus wasn’t afraid to confront the religious spirit.

He basically said:

If you won’t honor and believe the leaders God placed in your life, you won’t believe even if someone rises from the dead.

(RC paraphrase)

Why?

Because the flesh — human reasoning — will always find a way to explain away truth.

It will tell you why your leadership is wrong.
It will tell you why your peers “aren’t doing things right.”
It will tell you that miracle “wasn’t really God.”
It will label a delivered person as “radical,” and call resurrection “coincidence.”

(Some of y’all have resurrected people standing right in front of you… and you still don’t see them.)

When Jesus raised Lazarus, people STILL didn’t believe.
Some even tried to kill Lazarus again — not because they lacked evidence, but because they refused to bow to Jesus’ authority.

The issue wasn’t proof.
The issue was authority.

Let me be blunt:
Adults refuse to submit to church leadership with the attitude —
“I’m grown. You can’t tell me what to do.”

And then wonder why they can’t grow spiritually.

Unbelief isn’t a logic problem — it’s a lordship problem.

Before we can truly receive all that Jesus has for us, the authority issue in our hearts has to break.

If we can’t submit to the voices God places in front of us, we will resist His voice when He speaks through miracles, encounters, or even Scripture itself.

People don’t reject God because they lack evidence —
They reject Him because they don’t want a King.

Rebellion always dresses itself up as “I’m just thinking for myself.”
But true transformation starts where surrender starts.

When Jesus is Lord, faith becomes natural.
When pride is lord, unbelief is automatic.

Let Him deal with the authority battle inside first —
and watch how quickly your spiritual eyes open and your faith comes alive. 🔥

Let me quote Jesus himself (this is in red) as he is reminding the pharisees how there is nothing new under the sun, that they were doing exactly what the israelites did to moses and Abraham.

It’s adults rejecting the human authority God put in their lives, convinced that they know better than the wisdom and covering He gave them.

“But Abraham said, ‘Moses and the prophets have warned them. Your brothers can read what they wrote. The rich man replied, ‘No, Father Abraham! But if someone is sent to them from the dead, then they will repent of their sins and turn to God.’ But Abraham said, ‘If they won’t listen to Moses and the prophets, they won’t be persuaded even if someone rises from the dead.”
