The Rainbow

This picture was taken by my 12 year old daughter Jude, at Lighthouse Gospel Mission’s Faith Home, the ministry that showed me that restoration is possible after years of drug addiction. God’s promises are yes and amen! Thank you Lord for your promises!

This rainbow symbolizes Gods promise. When the first rain happened and a flood covered the earth. When all seemed hopeless, all the sudden…there was a rainbow; a promise of restoration, a promise of new life, a promise of rebirth, of regeneration.
This promise, like all of Gods promises are the same today as they were yesterday and are forever.

I was born a certain way, I was born into a selfish nature full of pride, co-dependency, depression, and anxiety. I needed acceptance from people, that I allowed anyone to show me the direction… all of this, lead to a addictive lifestyle that for me ended up with using heroin and meth daily to “cope”.

Here’s the truth! I needed to be re-born, I needed a “new life”, I needed someone to promise me that someday I would be whole and complete.

Someone did…

Maybe you were “born this way” or born that way, but he has called us to be reborn, to have and live a new life in him.

“Jesus answered, “Nicodemus, listen to this eternal truth: Before a person can even perceive God’s kingdom, they must first experience a rebirth.” Nicodemus said, “Rebirth? How can a gray-headed man be reborn? It’s impossible for anyone to go back into the womb a second time and be reborn!” Jesus answered, “I speak an eternal truth: Unless you are born of water and the Spirit, you will never enter God’s kingdom. For the natural realm only gives birth to things that are natural, but the spiritual realm gives birth to supernatural life!”
